In a strategic move, the Silicon Valley-based startup has launched a new suite of tools aimed at integrating meeting data into broader business workflows.

The latest offerings include an API for creating custom integrations with platforms like Jira and HubSpot, along with an MCP server that connects Otter data to external AI models. Additionally, a novel AI agent can now search meeting notes and presentations, making vital information more accessible and actionable.

According to Otter.ai CEO Sam Liang, “We are evolving from a meeting notetaker to a corporate meeting knowledge base. This is a system record for conversations that can help corporations scale their growth and drive measurable business value.”

Founded in 2016, Otter.ai has witnessed the rise of AI-driven transcription services. However, Liang emphasizes that Otter’s new direction distinguishes it from its peers by addressing the inefficiencies caused by information silos. “A lot of times, inefficiency happens because of information silos,” Liang explains. “The idea is to create a permission system so that information is shared as broadly as possible.”

While not every meeting will be included in the centralized knowledge base, users can control access to sensitive recordings. Privacy remains a critical concern, with ongoing discussions about managing information access responsibly.

Despite these challenges, Liang is optimistic about the future, stating, “We’re building this new AI revolution. If you want AI to help, you need to put AI in the meetings.” Otter.ai’s innovations are poised to transform how enterprises leverage meeting data, turning conversations into strategic assets.
