Reliance Industries Unveils Ambitious AI Infrastructure Plans

In a significant move to bolster India’s position in the global AI landscape, Reliance Industries, under the leadership of Mukesh Ambani, has announced the launch of Reliance Intelligence. This new subsidiary is set to develop a comprehensive AI infrastructure, in collaboration with Google Cloud and Meta, aimed at transforming various sectors through advanced AI solutions.

During the company’s 48th annual general meeting, Ambani outlined the vision for Reliance Intelligence to become a hub for world-class researchers and engineers. The initiative seeks to merge innovative ideas with engineering excellence to create impactful applications for India and beyond.

To kickstart this venture, Reliance has partnered with Google Cloud to establish a dedicated AI cloud infrastructure in India, commencing with a large data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This AI-focused cloud region will serve businesses of all scales, developers, and government bodies, leveraging Jio’s extensive network and energy resources.

Marking another strategic collaboration, Reliance and Meta have entered a joint venture to develop and scale enterprise AI solutions across India and select international markets. The partnership will utilize Meta’s Llama-based platform to offer customizable AI models for diverse business needs, enhancing sectors such as sales, marketing, and customer service.

As Reliance continues to expand its technological footprint, the company plans to take its flagship subsidiary, Reliance Jio Platforms, to international markets and is preparing for an initial public offering in 2026. Additionally, Reliance is enhancing its consumer cloud service, JioAICloud, and integrating AI capabilities into its streaming platform, JioHotstar, to provide innovative user experiences.

These strategic endeavors underscore Reliance Industries’ commitment to advancing AI technology and positioning India as a formidable player in the global AI arena.
