PayPal Offers Early Access to Cutting-Edge AI Browser Comet

In a strategic move to enhance user experience and engagement, PayPal is offering its customers, including PayPal and Venmo users, exclusive early access to the highly anticipated AI-powered web browser, Comet. This initiative also includes a complimentary one-year subscription to Perplexity’s premium service, Perplexity Pro, valued at $200 annually.

Comet, which integrates an AI assistant and provides AI-generated summaries of search results and product comparisons, is set to revolutionize the browsing experience. Initially accessible to Perplexity’s top-tier subscribers and select invitees, Comet is now within reach of a broader audience thanks to this collaboration with PayPal.

This partnership not only positions Comet in front of millions of U.S. users but also strengthens the existing relationship between PayPal and Perplexity, which had previously collaborated on agentic commerce features. For PayPal, this initiative is an opportunity to attract more users to its platform by offering the Comet invite and free subscription. It also draws attention to a new feature that allows users to manage their recurring subscriptions in one place.

Furthermore, PayPal is incentivizing users with a promotion offering $50 to those who link and pay for at least three subscriptions through its service. For Perplexity, this exposure is critical at a time when AI agents are vying for market dominance, providing an opportunity to increase its paid subscriber base.

Eligible PayPal and Venmo users can easily access this offer through their respective apps, receiving a single invite per account. The offer is available to U.S. customers and select international users, with a broader rollout expected soon. This initiative will run through the end of 2025, giving users ample time to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
