Google Expands AI Mode Globally with Enhanced Features
Google has announced a significant global expansion of its AI Mode, a feature that empowers users to ask complex questions and receive follow-up information directly within Search. This expansion introduces new agentic and personalized capabilities, allowing users to interact with AI Mode in more dynamic ways.
Previously accessible only to users in the U.S., U.K., and India, AI Mode is now being rolled out in English across additional regions, with plans to support more languages soon. A key highlight of the update is the ability for users to make restaurant reservations through AI Mode. By specifying preferences such as party size, date, time, location, and cuisine, users can receive real-time availability from various reservation platforms, presented as a curated list of options.
These new capabilities are part of the ‘Agentic capabilities in AI Mode’ available in the U.S., particularly under Google’s premium plan. AI Mode is also set to deliver search results tailored to individual preferences and interests, starting with dining-related topics. This personalized approach leverages past user interactions, searches, and preferences to offer more relevant suggestions. For example, if a user prefers Italian cuisine and outdoor seating, AI Mode will prioritize these options.
Additionally, Google has introduced a ‘Share’ button within AI Mode, allowing users to share responses and collaborate with others. This feature is particularly useful for planning activities such as trips or events, enabling seamless communication and cooperation.
With these enhancements, Google continues to innovate and improve the user experience, ensuring that AI Mode remains a valuable tool for information retrieval and personalized assistance.
