Wu emphasizes the importance of maintaining the terminal as the core platform while expanding to web and mobile to meet developers’ needs wherever they are.
Interestingly, 90% of Claude Code’s development is performed by AI models themselves, highlighting the transformative impact of AI in software engineering. This evolution has shifted the role of developers, who now manage AI coding assistants rather than writing code manually.
Despite some challenges, such as AI tools struggling with large, complex codebases, Anthropic is committed to advancing AI coding agents. The company envisions a future where AI plays a central role in software development, although widespread adoption might take time.
